My public relations class talked about press releases, media kits, fact sheets, and pitching. Theses four items are essential in public relations. Press releases gets a message out to the public, media kits keep a company on top of the water, fact sheets are written down to the detail about a company, and pitching keeps your head in the game. Press releases are given to not only newspapers and magazines but also news stations. Media kits are prepared to help keep things organized when events or product launches are being campaigned. Fact sheets can make a company look good, because it provides a lot of background information like annual revenues. Pitching, my favorite, gets your work out to different companies. There is no use in pitching to a company by e-mail if they do not know you. So it’s important to get to know a company and research there history.
